  1. I already have a POS terminal for my debit/credit services. Do I need another one to run the Infinity Card Program?

    No. Infinity Card is pleased to announce the introduction of the American Express Companion terminal, which allows merchants to utilize one terminal for debit/credit processing and the Infinity Card gift/loyalty program.   2. If I have more than one terminal/location, can the cards be used at each of my locations?

    Yes, each terminal is programmed to accept specific card ranges, and for merchants with more than one terminal/location, each of the terminals is programmed to accept all card ranges designated to the merchant's group of terminals.

  3. I already have a paper gift certificate program. Why should I replace it with electronic gift cards?

    Even if you issue paper gift certificates today, the Infinity Card program can benefit your business in many ways. In addition to all of the intangible benefits of electronic cards (e.g., prestige, advertising capabilities, etc.), the Infinity Card Program can provide you with very attractive revenue and profit increases over gift certificate programs, and a healthy return on your investment through increased gift card sales, fraud reduction, uplift in spend, and the elimination of providing cash back on unused gift certificate amounts.   4. If I purchase the program today with gift card only, can I add other items such as loyalty, stored value or promotional cards later?

    Yes, other programs can be added at any time. In fact, the Infinity Card Program allows for up to six different programs to be run on a single terminal. To add another program, merchants simply need to contact their Infinity Card sales representative, and can download the new programs through the phone line.

  5. Are the gift cards re-loadable?

    Yes, technically gift cards can be re-loaded. However, most consumers will prefer to purchase a new card, as they are presenting this to someone as a gift. For other programs (i.e., loyalty, stored value), cards can be re-loaded as per the cardholder's preference.



  6. I am worried about fraud and security. What measures are in place to help me stop fraud, and ensure the security of the system?

    There are numerous fraud prevention measures incorporated into the Infinity Card Program, both standard and customizable based on merchant preferences. Electronic card programs are much less susceptible to fraud compared to paper based programs. Statistics show that electronic card programs can reduce fraud by up to 5%. The Infinity Card Program cannot stop employees from fraudulently loading cards, but it does allow merchants to track all card transactions, and typically, a merchant will then be able to determine which employee is responsible for the fraudulent transactions.

  7. How long does a transaction take to complete?

    Dial-up/online transactions typically take approximately 25-30 seconds, while batch/offline transactions (i.e., magnetic stripe card loyalty loads) take approximately 5 seconds.

  8. What reporting do I receive? Is the reporting online?

    All reporting is online and is included in the monthly program fee. Merchants can access their data 24/7 via the Internet. Reports include both transaction and cardholder balance summary and detail information via an easy to use Web interface.

  9. Is the program Smart Card capable?

    Both the program and terminal are fully capable of supporting SmartCard transactions. In fact, the terminal and program can mix magnetic stripe and SmartCard transactions on one terminal (e.g., gift card on magnetic stripe and loyalty or stored value on SmartCard).

  10. Does the program include customer database options?

    The Infinity Program can store customer name, address, phone number, and other information in its online reporting database. Merchants are required to record this information at time of card issue, and can enter this information online through the reporting system. Once customer information is in the database, custom reports can be run showing merchants customer specific information.
